Parkview Care Centre

At Park View Care Centre we want our residents to relax and feel at home so we keep rules and regulations to a minimum. Instead we promote individuality, making sure that each client is able to make choices about their daily life wherever possible. Our aim is to provide expert care of the highest standard whilst creating a relaxed and friendly environment. Our dedicated and skilled team provides individual care to those who require general nursing, palliative care, or residential dementia care.

Our Location

Park View Care Centre has a delightful location at the heart of the Park Farm community in Ashford. The home is just 15 minutes from Ashford International Station and 22 miles from Dover. It is also easily accessible from the M20 motorway and is close to regular bus routes.
Around the corner from the home, you’ll find a pub that serves very good food most of the day.

The home is purpose built making it ideal for people with mobility problems. There are wide corridors, ramps into the gardens and a large lift giving access between the two floors.

All of our 88 en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated and have co-ordinating fabrics to achieve a real home from home feeling.

The rooms are warm but airy and each radiator has its own temperature control so residents can keep their room as warm or as cool as they prefer. Personal telephones can be installed in the room or the telephones on the units can be taken to the resident’s room for privacy.

Meal Times

Meal times are an important part of the day at Park View and we make sure everyone’s tastes and preferences are catered for. We offer a choice of delicious, nutrient-rich dishes and also cater for special diets such as diabetic or vegetarian. For residents who can’t manage a large meal, we offer a range of appetising snacks. Residents can choose to eat in the dining room or in their own room. Visitors are also welcome to join us at meal times’ just let us know in advance, so that we can prepare something for you.

Keeping Active

We want our residents to enjoy as full and varied life as possible, we therefore provide a wide range of activities for those who wish to take part. Professional entertainers visit at least twice a week and we have access to a minibus once a month for external outings. We take the time to understand what hobbies and interests each resident has so that we can help them to spend time doing what they enjoy most.

Our three activities organisers arrange a wide variety of activities including coffee mornings at the local church hall, movement to music sessions, film and reminiscence mornings and games. For those who enjoy reading we provide books. In addition, newspapers can be ordered from the local shop. We also have a stroke a pet visit once a week which many residents find very beneficial to their wellbeing.

Every Friday, we have a service by a Christian group from the local church and this is offered to all residents who wish to attend. Roman Catholic priests also visit to give communion. Families and friends are welcome to visit at any time during the day, up until 8.30pm. There is no restriction on the number of visitors or the amount of time they stay and children are very welcome.

Providing Care

So that we can provide expert care on an individual basis, we develop a care plan for each person in consultation with the resident and/or their relatives. We believe in providing each resident with as much choice as possible and allow them to make their own decisions, for example choosing when they want to get up in the morning or deciding what to wear.

Residents can continue to use their own GP where practical. Alternatively, we have access to GPs within the area and a GP visits the home every Tuesday. We have regular visits from hairdressers, a chiropodist and an optician. We respect residents with religious beliefs and wherever possible we’ll help them to continue to practise their faith. This could include enabling residents to attend religious services or helping them meet with religious leaders, ministers or priests in private. We provide continuous training for our staff, in line with Care Quality Commission guidelines and always recruit staff who share our values and are committed to maintaining the homely atmosphere that we’ve created at Park View.
