Queens Court Nursing Home

Combining quality care and a beautiful environment, Queens Court provides a warm welcome and a real home-from-home atmosphere. At Queens Court we provide a high level of care for older residents as well as those with dementia or a physical disability. We promote independence and choice and ensure that every resident is treated as an individual, helping them to spend each day doing the things they enjoy most.

Our Location

At Queens Court we are really lucky to be situated in such a lovely location. Our modern purpose-built home sits within beautifully landscaped grounds, close to Epping Forest. We’re easy to reach by car or public transport and there’s plenty of parking. The underground train station and a bus stop are just a five minute walk. Local amenities include shops, a newsagent, a Methodist church and a very popular pub.

As a purpose-built home, the building is easily accessible with wheelchair access and a lift.

Our residents’ rooms are warm and cosy with good ventilation and a comfortable room temperature. Each room has en-suite facilities and is decorated to high standards. A nurse call system is available giving residents and their relatives’ peace of mind around the clock. A colour television and telephone points are also available in each room. Residents are encouraged to bring small items such as ornaments and pictures to make their own room feel even more homely.

In our communal areas we’ve created an environment where residents can chat with the staff, socialise with one another or simply relax on their own. We have six spacious lounges and dining rooms, with some lounges having access to the patio areas and gardens, offering a delightful place to spend a sunny afternoon.

Meal Times

We believe that it’s really important for our residents to enjoy meal times and we offer plenty of choice to suit different tastes and cultural backgrounds. The menu is reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that meals are tasty and nutritious. As well as offering a choice of what to eat, we also let residents choose where they would like to eat whether that’s in the dining room or in their own room.

Keeping Active

At Queens Court we encourage independence and choice and our activities programme reflects this with a diverse range of activities available to suit all tastes. We have a residents’ committee which meets once every other month. We regularly arrange outings to the cinema, pubs and seaside resorts, and entertainers visit the home each month. In addition, we hold a music morning twice a week, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy light exercise. Residents are also encouraged to assist the staff with small tasks such as preparing the dining room for meal times helping them to keep active and provide the opportunity to chat with staff. For residents who enjoy reading, a mobile library visits each month and a newsagent delivers newspapers to the home daily. If residents wish to attend religious services outside the home, we will help them to do so. We also have a Priest who visits regularly to worship with the residents and give them Holy Communion. We believe that residents should be free to meet with friends and family anytime and so we have no set visiting hours. Friends and families are welcome to spend time in the resident’s own room, in the garden, main lounge or the quiet lounge.

Providing Care

We pride ourselves on providing a high level of care within the home and residents are able to access other health services on a regular basis. Residents can choose to remain with their own GP or register with the home’s resident GP.All of our staff receive quality training from both in-house and external trainers. Our staff turnover is low, reflecting the warm yet highly professional environment we have created at Queens Court.
